Yeah it's all subservient to windows interface. I don't think KDE or Gnome are available. If they are I'd appreciate seeing them as options. i.e. I bought a computer. I didn't buy windows. How come windows has control over everything I do?

No luck whatsoever. Been using Opensuse for twenty years or so and installed it on many machines. I've been at Windows 11 for three days now and I cannot dent it. It won't allow a boot from usb or dvd,. Something about secure boot failure. Tried wsl and it complains that some file isn't up to date and gives me a url. Got the terminal in both Ubuntu and in Opensuse. At least I think it was their terminal, Could have been a windows terminal of course. Too frightened to go into the windows partitioning tool in case nothing remains. All this while being interrupted by advertising for software I down want and trips I might take If I had money. Exactly the reason I left the windows advertising world twenty or thirty years ago.
